Canon M5: Do you have problems with ergonomics?
1

Hi,

I used to shoot with Canon DSLRs for more than 20 years. Recently with a Canon 80D and now I have added an M5 to my kit. I bought it mainly to have a small but capable camera when I need to travel light.

During the last couples of weeks I used the M5 more than the 80D to get more acquainted with it. But my finding it, I like the ergonomics of my 80D much more. Yes, it feels bulky after changing back, but the handling is just better. And I think my photos are better as well.

These are my most common problems with the M5:

  1. I often press unintentional the "touch & drag AF" button (does this button placement near the lens makes any sense to you???)
  2. I often press unintentional the "video record" button
  3. I often dial the "EC dial" when I actually wanted to use the "quick control dial" for Av in manual mode
  4. There is this annoying problem that the camera too often thinks I want to look through the EVF, but in reality, it is just my finger moving to the display from above...

By the way, I am using my left eye to look through the EVF. This might cause at least problem no 3. It also makes the great touch AF not so usable...

Do you have any tipps how to prevent these problems?

Thanks!
