As I mentioned, the session length is planned to be about 1 hour. The G7 is off the table because: "Maximum time to record motion pictures continuously with [MP4] in [4K] is 29 minutes 59 seconds." this is still up on the Panasonic web site.

Mine does unlimited recording in 4K.

" Continuous recordable time (Motion picture): MP4 [4K/30p]: Approx. 90 min with H-FS12060"

Hence my confusion. You have actually recorded a single file that exceeds the 90 minute limit - say 2 hours?

and

"Actual recordable time (Motion picture): MP4 [4K/30p]: Approx. 45 min with H-FS12060"

BAH!!! The most unhelpful set of specifications EVER! And why on earth does the lens need to be specified!!!!

Because the lens uses power.

The limit they are referring to here is the limit imposed by the battery. Since you are using external power you won't to need consider this limit.

Not saying you are wrong, but to specify the kit lens and not specify the kit battery - well - what can I say.

I am getting all this from the internet and you know what they say about that! It is really sad that the manufacturer cannot be clear about the specifications of their products and the markets in which they are available at the specified level of performance. I know if I give them enough money and say I want 'that' they will send me something. I just shouldn't expect it to be exactly 'that'!  After all their lawyers saw to it that they put up  disclaimers in just the right places! Ah well!
