EF-Lenses on Compact Camera?

I have a old Panasonic TZ10 with a non-working lens because I dropped it once. Since I own a DSLR and a newer compact Camera I don‘t really need the Camera anymore so I thought why not put an EF-Mount on it. I have done some research and found out it has a 1/2.3 inch Sensor which results into a 5.6 Cropfactor, which would be interesting to try out because my 70-200 would then be roughly equivalent to a 400-1100mm F2.8. I don‘t plan on using it much, just to try it out and maybe take some Photos of the Moon or so. Of course the Lens would be Manual Focus only and the Aperture couldn‘t be changed.

I disassembled the TZ10 and found out the Sensor is connected to the Motherboard with one Ribbon Cable, the whole Lens is also connected to the Motherboard with one Ribbon Cable. As the Sensor can be unscrewed from the Lens Part, I first tried to disconnect the Lens Part and put it out of the Camera so that there only was the Sensor without a Lens connected. When turning on the Camera, it first showed the Live View from the Sensor (really blurry because there was no Lens attached) after a few seconds it displayed an Error Message and I couldn‘t take a Photo. The Manual says the Camera has both, a mechanical and an electronical Shutter, and because the mechanical shutter is in the Lens Part it would have to use the electronical one.

What I want to do now, is to leave the Lens connected to the Camera and try to place it somewhere where it isn‘t in the way of the Sensor, then I would try to place one of my Canon Lenses about 44mm (the flange distance of EF-Mount Lenses) from the Sensor and try to shoot a picture. This way the Camera would think it is using the built in Lens and wouldn‘t give an error message. If this works, I may try to build a Case for it out of Wood and screw a EF-Mount Ring (you can order them on Ebay for about 10$) to it in the right distance to the sensor. The only problem is, the cable of the Lens Part isn‘t long enough to get it out of the Camera Case and still be connected to the Mainboard.

tl,dr: I try to find an Extension Cable for the Lens Part of my Compact Camera, but as you can see in the attached Photo, it isn‘t a normal cable, but has a rather complicated Layout and I have not yet found anything like it.

Does anyone know where I could order one? Or do you have any other suggestions for my little project?

Greetings, Martin_Url

This is the cable I need an extension for
