U.S. Pricing.....Best Buy sells the G1Xiii, and when I went into the Sacramento store to have a look at it, they did not have one on display. The website had indicated they had one, so I asked about it. It was in a box in a locked cabinet, and they didn't seem to want to put a battery in it or demonstrate it at all. The sales person said he hadn't yet sold one himself, but overall, it seemed an odd way to sell a camera. You really did have to know all about the camera and ask about it to know they even had it for sale. Maybe they didn't want to put it up at the current price...??

I ran into this when trying to look at the Sony RX1 Mark ii at a local camera store. They flat-out refused to unpackage the camera (and had none ondisplay). I can only imagine that stores figure that higher-end niche cameras are too expensive to buy extras as demos.

I did finally get to try out the Sony at another store but only because a Sony sales guy happened to be visiting at the time and brought one with him.

No one in my area is carrying the G1X iii, or at least they weren’t when I bought it in December. I had to get it online. (From Crutchfield’s, by the way, which threw in a free Canon printer.)
