Re: Lightweight Arca Micro Ballheads for Gorillapod?
I've used the C-10 quite a bit (the S version added the button for the safety release pins IIRC, convenient) and I'm pretty happy with it, even held a borrowed G6 + 100-300mm (with the Roesch ARCA foot collar) tho there was some droop when tightening it... That setup kinda pushed the limits of ease of use on that head but it was still quite secure and I ended up taking some nice blood moon shots with it.
For just $30 more you CAN just get it with a pretty decent and pretty compact travel tripod in the T-005X (which is how I bought mine), just saying... Almost doesn't seem worth it to buy it separate. All three of the suggested heads seem kinda chunky for a Gorillapod but maybe I'm underestimating that particular Gorillapod model.
I'm no expert on heads and legs, my only first hand reference for a nicer head is the K-20X I bought to put on a pair of Desmond CF legs, that setup is mostly for home & local use (I take the T-005X when I travel). It's super smooth tho, the friction adjustment is nice, money well spent. For something much tinier I'd look at the Cullman CB-2.7*.
*(tho again, might as well pay $5 extra and get a nice tabletop/mini tripod with it in the Cullman Magnesit Copter).
That's actually what I end up using the most by far when I'm out and about, I put a QR clamp on it so it's quicker to setup... At first it was a Kirk 1" clamp but later swapped it for a Sunwayfoto clamp with lever release, even quicker. The little CB-2.7 is nicer than anything else I've tried on mini tripods (Manfrotto Pixi, Benro's equivalent, etc; tried & gifted away a couple).
Tho again, I haven't tried something like those really expensive RRS/Novoflex mini setups, can't bring myself to pay full size prices for something 6" high. The only downside to the CB2.7 is it tightens pan and orientation simultaneously. It's probably not much cheaper than some of the options you listed after adding the Sunway clamp (the existing plate is removable so only the screw remains btw, it's also a cold shoe on the other side)...
There's cheaper/slimmer clamps (Desmond has tons). OTOH I quite like the Sunway DDC-42LR I put on it for quicker setup (one less knob to tighten), and I can even swap it out for an actual indexed pano clamp if I wanna get fancy. I can post some pics if you want, Sunwayfoto stuff is harder to track down sometimes.
That RRS BC-18 is easily the slimmest setup I've seen, with a lever release to boot, and I do have an L plate on my E-M5 II (a RRS at that, tho the portrait orientation bit is usually not attached until I need it)... Typical RRS pricing tho. Lever lock for the ball and screw for the clamp also seems kinda backwards, might make it harder to dial in precise orientation.
