Just to provide you with more information, I did not remove the card from the camera for a least 1 week before the error message. On Tuesday, I was taking photos with no problem. On Wednesday, I turned on the camera and there is the error message. Card had not been removed.
So I thought it was a bad card. But the camera does not read any other card - one that I had previously formatted in the camera and another I did not. The reader is dead and will not format a new card.
My camera is in Fuji's repair shop, being fixed for free as it is under warranty. That indicates that it isn't a computer/card format/user problem, nor a firmware problem.
E issue usually occurs when some in in camera deleting is done. If u don't delete anything when viewing during shoot or better off do look at them at all...e issue doesn't occur. Maybe fuji is so old school that this is a feature for user to not look at what they shoot....back to film days...haha
I delete from my camera quite a bit. But I also re-format semi-regularly.
my suspicion came when i had read error and when downloading the photos, i have images that were read arranged ( as in in a single image, the centre portion of the photo ended up at the bottom switching place w the bottom portion, do a search if you want to see the photo cos i posted before. and some have images of 2 different photos stitch into 1. thus i thought the naming of the files cos the camera to be confused and ended up combining 2 photos into 1 etc. i also realised that most of the time when it happened, its 2 or 3 photos together( for my case using XT1), seldom a stand alone.
that was all in july/aug 2017. since renaming the files, have never had a single read error w the same card that used to give problem.
for the record: i named my FXT1
Since I got my XP2, I've always chosen my own prefix for my files. Are you saying that the default naming convention causes problems? I've never had any issue like you describe (knock on wood) and have never had trouble with card reading etc. and have always deleted at will on my camera.
yes, thats what i think. it it doesnt matter what i think is right of wrong now, cause even if i am wrong, i am no longer having the problem.
you can always try changing back to default naming and see if the problem surface. it COULD be because in your case you have already change the naming thus it never bothered you. then again, dont trouble trouble unless trouble troubles you.....;-)
