I've used both EM1.2 and G9. G9 has quicker point to point S-AF and I'd put it as being better at tracking as well.

Interesting. How would you overall rate the G9 vs the EM1.2?

Point to point s-af with a fast focusing lens is faster (whether I tried Olympus or Panasonic lenses) but the EM1.2 is already a speed demon and I wouldn't trade based on AF speed alone. C-AF looks to be a little more accurate. I've historically shot EM1, EM1.2 and for my tastes the G9 is the better camera not least because of the significantly better viewfinder and generally slightly better build quality in hand. One thing that works much better is the C-AF in video.  Again, for my tastes. In terms of IQ I didn't really notice much difference other than perhaps the G9 is a little 'crisper' at low ISO's whereas the EM1.2 is perhaps a little smoother (every so slightly less luminance noise, but the G9 will hold slightly more detail). I suspect this is down to difference in processing engines. If you shoot event work/hybrid, one really nice feature of the G9 that I don't see mentioned much is the anti-flickr for video.

Regarding low light AF performance, one thing to note is that default configuration is for the LVF to be set to 60fps. When you set this to 120fps I noticed better low light focusing and the EVF had a noticeably smoother update in low light too.
I asked Robin and he was not aware of this feature.

Interesting.I thought it would be the opposite- i.e. that in 120FPS I will lose something else (like lowlight focusing). Worth checking.

This takes the EVF up another notch in my books again. Right now, the EVF in the G9 is the best viewfinder I've experienced (Leica SL, A7riii, A9). It also happens to be the biggest which may account for why there is slight pincushion on the corners. It's almost too big, hence why there is an option to reduce size for those with glasses.

Food for thought.
