Robin Wong G9 Review - Thoughts?

I have never seen a direct comparison of the G9 and the E-M1 II for CAF, and I believe I've only seen one person directly compare the GH5 to the E-M1 II for CAF. And I believe that was Jorginho. My reading of his comments would indicate he believed the GH5 was ahead.

The issue is that in the DPReview, the G9 was put through more rigorous and demanding tests than the E-M1 II, and I'm dubious that the E-M1 II would even perform as well as the G9.

The only way to know for sure which performs better under which circumstances is to do a direct head to head comparison, which was never done. And again, I don't think the E-M1 II will come up looking great here.

So he just as easily be saying it now matches or comes close to the EM-! mk2 PDAF system?

I don't know how the G9 compares to the E-M1 II PDAF for sure, but I do know the G9 will perform better in SAF in low light, as does the GH5. So, saying that it now just comes close is provably inaccurate.

Let's not forget that Olympus can only do good AF with PDAF, and they only put that in their E-M1 series. Panasonic is actually far ahead in AF in virtually their entire lineup.
