Is a Chromebook good enough for raw photo reviewing?

With my new job, I can't install any personal software on the company laptop, but need to take that computer when I travel. As I also like to take a decent camera to use in free time, I need to figure out how to view, and ideally process, photos when traveling for work. I could take my own laptop, but I'm reluctant to take the extra weight and bulk. I could buy a superlight PC, but I don't want to spend the roughly $1000 that would cost. So, a Chromebook could be a good option (with a 64 GB thumbdrive for storage), but is their decent software for viewing and processing Canon raw files on a Chromebook?
