...wich is true.

ED glass are used to reduce chromatic aberrations, have minimal effect to size.

And yet your own statement is contradicting & confusing. Using more ED/fluorite/crown glass etc. elements in telephoto lens can further reduce their size? Not at all.

Put it this way, Canon's design have one ED to do the job while Sony needs two.
