A6000 in 2018? Or A6300 A6500?

Full disclosure: I ordered an A6000 with the kit lens new for $498 but I am wondering if I should exchange it for the A6300 or A6500

I haven't received the A6000 yet but I am wondering if I should spend the extra money for the A6300 or A6500.

The A6000 is replacing my Nikon D300 which I have had since new in 2008.  I sold the camera with under 3000 frames....I basically used the D300 as a tool for photographing pens and watches for a blog as well as for when I needed to sell something on eBay or Craigslist.

I travel a lot and usually shoot a combination of film (with various cameras) and my iPhone.

I kind of like the idea that I could use my film lenses on the Sony cameras and maybe I could do away with film.  I tried this years ago with the original digital Olympus Pen and that was awful.  The D300 was basically a household appliance for me and that was my intention for the A6000 but if it can replace my film cameras then the higher-end models start becoming more attractive.

I know the A6300 and A6500 can autofocus some legacy film lenses with an adapter.  How well does this actually work in practice?  How is the metering and is there auto exposure as well?

If I don't care about AF are there serious functional advantages over the A6000 when shooting old manual lenses or is it just improved IQ from the sensor?
