I am going to take photos at the concert in my town (actually it isn't just a concert.cca 300-400 people. I am going to capture the event on the stage, under the stage and also in backstage. ). I am going to use my Canon 50 mm f1.8 lens. I know that place well and I am going to take some "test snaps" before the event. The problem is, that I haven't needed any flash till now. When I needed some I just use that build-in one and diffuse the light with something.
Should I get one? I know it is better to take photos of the musicians without flash, but what about the crowd and the DJs at the bar? I don't know anyone who would lend me a flash, so I would have to buy some. Any tips for some cheap flash? Or are there any ways how to customize that build in flash, so the light from it wouldn't be so intense?
