My friends are my favorite editors.  I take their impressions of my shots to heart.  I cherish their critiques.  There's nothing like mothers love. I know better.

But I belong to a serious photo club; and I respect their critiques as well.   Like anyone who has had their pics judged or has been in attendance at a photo judging affair, you sometimes are going to shake your head at the results.  The judges in my club adhere to "some rules" that I didn't go to school for, but they are taking on a job that has some responsibility.  So in a word, these folks are qualified.  Good reason for that.  When I lazily submit some junk, they dismiss it.  But, I've been taken aside by a member; "you know, that was a great shot, these judges just like birds".  That's even better.
