[A7r3 +70-200 f/4 or 70-300] vs. [Olympus Em1 Mark 2 + Pana 100-400]

Hi.

Long time Olympus user, and taking pics of usually far away (small % of frame area) but sometimes closer. Not moving too fast.

I like the Em1 Mark 2 IQ, but it isn't in the same country, let alone league, as the A7r3 for picture quality. Em1 is m43.

So, I am shooting with the Em1 + Panasonic 100-400 (equivalent to 200-800). Optically, I am getting much closer than with an A7r3. And Em1 images digitally zoom not that poorly. That's on the one hand.

On the other hand, I consider the A7r3, with either the 70-200 f4-5.6 or the 70-300. The A7r3 has much superior IQ. But with the two lenses, I am much further away optically [Not as far with the 70-300, but the 70-300 is somewhat inferior to the 70-200. Both good lenses, but it's another compromise area.]

Question: For subjects that will fill the frame, with the A7r3 + 70-200, images will be far superior. As less and less of the frame is filled, we get closer to an equivalence between a digitally zoomed A7r3, and the optically closer Em1. And the 70-300 stands in-between the two, closer to the A7r3.

But for images farther away, how much final image quality will I lose comparing between a digitally zoomed A7r3 with either of its lenses, and the Em1 with the 200-800 equivalent?

What do you think?
