Can bad display-drivers and/or graphic hardware render RAW files incorrectly

Just bought a new state-of-the-art PC (coming from MAC) and one thing that has struck me is how my RAW files in Lightroom have a better "punch". More saturated colors from scratch and it's easier to push/edit the images where I want them. And this is even before profiling my monitor. I am still on Windows default generic SRGB profile.

So it makes me wonder if my graphiccard on my MAC (integrated Intel HD 4000) was not really optimal and/or my Xrite calibration profiles were not 100% with OSX.

Profiles aside, could a bad graphic-card or drivers (or potential OS problems) have an impact on the actual RAW rendering/demosaicing?
