May I pick your brains on a walk around zoom?

Well I'm back! haven't decided on a lens just yet--can't make up my mind, as to whats best for my type of shooting? I'm talking about my D610 and a single zoom for every day usage? I've looked and reviewed I think most lenses known to man?

Lets start this way; a used 24 120 F4, -I'm cheap! or a new 24 85 3.5 4.5 VR, and a 18 35 zoom. Let me say it this way? I'm retired and not exactly flowing with "bucks"

Currently I'm using my Nikon 28 85 3.5 4.5 [non VR and D status] I've used this for so long i just can't discard it? but I think time is moving on! and i need to make a change.

I use my 70 210 D and love it, I use it more than my Nikon 70 300 VR, its less bulky, and between 70 and 200, I think its just as good as my VR version? There is a story in the 70 210 zoom all by itself.

The current Nikon 18 35? has my curiosity up? i bought the first one back in 2000? was great on my film bodies[F100- FE2] but when i moved to my D70, I didn't like the range so i sold it! Now I'm wondering about it? most reviews I've read like it.

So! if I may pick your brains:and your thoughts, on these to help me make a lasting decision? I also use my Nikon 20 2.8 AF D, and like it for my WA uses.

I'm not a low light "shooter" any more, i like good light, and simple outdoor shooting. Again i appreciate you thoughts, experiences.

Thanks mucho,  "dog house riley"
