A few years ago I moved from a 60D to a 6D and never used the 60D much afterward. I picked up an M3 around three years ago and never really liked it. I did get the EF-S 55-250mm STM shortly after and was blown away with how it performed on the M3. Especially since I picked it up for $125. This summer I wanted to pick up a new small camera prior to a vacation and the M5 never impressed so I was tilting toward the Fuji X-T20. Then Canon announced the SL2 and I waited on it to hit the shelves to try it. I ended up buying it and the 10-18 and 18-55mm f/4.0-5.6 kit lens. I have had the EF 50mm STM for a while.

I took the four STM lenses on vacation in a small bag and was more than pleased with the results. So much so that I plan to use the SL2 and these lenses for quite some time while the next 1-2 generation MILCs roll out. I have less than $1,000 into the SL2 kit (less than $700 if I take away the $325 I sold the 60D for) that has a range of 16-400mm. There is not another camera/lens maker that can come close to this level of price/performance ratio, IMO.  Plus, these lenses are so small and lightweight that they rival many MILC lenses in this regard.
