Combi of SL2/EOS 200D + Sigma 17-50mm F/2.8

Anyone using this combination and can you recommend it?

I am currently an MFT user (as well as Canon G7x), with a Panasonic GX85. Quite happy with it but considering a faster zoom lens, the 12-35 F2.8. Mostly to have the flexibility of a zoom (in the most important range) and have a little bit of a faster lens so it will work in low light too. Supposedly a great lens, but expensive, almost a 1000 euro.

I am a believer in mirrorless, but somehow  'secretly' attracted to the SL2. Because of size, weight,  IQ, canon colors, etc. Started looking at lenses with EF-S mount and found the Sigma, which I can get for around 350 euro new-amazing value, if it is any good.

So..I could buy an additional camera (no intention to replace), WITH a fast zoom lens for around the same money as the Panasonic lens. Both F2.8, similar range.. Seems terrific value. I consider the IQ difference at high ISO not worth the 'trouble'/insignifcant, BUT, F2.8 on APSC will give me a bit more background separation too. At 35 mm (70mm eq.) the Panasonic has a bit too much DOF, maybe the Sigma on the SL2 is just wide enough for a nice portrait.

So.. curious if anyone has this combination and likes it (from a n IQ  perspective, but also weight/balance/operation/focus speed etc.) ? Or, if you have just the lens, I'd be interested too to hear about IQ and focus speed.
On the SL2 I have read enough *I think* to be convinced of the value it delivers.

Thanks in advance!

Chris
