I would like to resample down the results every time for getting the best 16b (or more bit) depth (without any lost of tones). Of course that it would be enough the 1:1 magnification for HP5+.

Primary i would like the maximum from the film that later it should be up to 12x20".

And one more note, "the Redneck" is not only on hard grained material (mentioned HP5+) but it was with fully open aperture F5.6 that mean minimal DOF and not ideal resolution (lens sharpness on this aperture).

So with higher aperture numbers (about F8 - F22) and low grained material there should be a lot more details than from small format of course.
