As no one seemed to have information about the XP-15000 printer I went ahead and ordered the Epson 1430 to replace the 1400.  The EpsonP400 is tempting but as I prefer matte papers over glossy I will pass on the P400.

The Epson 1400 lasted ten years, so I was well satisfied with the quality and hope the 1430 continues to last another ten years. In addition I have about $125.00 worth of ink left over from the 1400 that I can switch over to the 1430 and use up. I consider that to be a savings that brings the price of the 1430 down considerably compared to any other printer at this time. Seems like printers always fail just after replacing the ink cartridges.
