Morning photography at amphitheater at Bryce Canyon

So I will be taking a trip to Bryce later this year (in Sept/Oct) and one place I definitely want to visit is the amphitheater.  I know that this is a "sunrise" location but I'm wondering when is the best time in the morning to shoot this location, as I've seen pictures of it, and from the pictures I've looked at, it looks like you are looking down on the amphitheater from a higher spot (possibly a nearby road or parking lot).

So with that, I'm thinking that this is maybe a spot you would photography a little after sunrise, and not at sunrise (like maybe 30 minutes after sunrise)?

Anyone shoot this location that can offer some tips?
