X-T2 Back Button Focus and Focus Modes

as I'm used to BBF I set up my X-T2 that way from the very beginning. In the meantime I found out the following:

1) BBF does only work when the focus mode switch on the camera is set to M. If set to S or C the camera doesn't autofocus at all (AF disconnected from shutter). Is this expected behaviour?

2) As the camera has to be in M mode when using BBF (?), there is now way to select focus modes other than "Single Point" - even when instant AF is set to AF-C. So there seems no option to select "Zone", "Wide" or "All" when using BBF. Is this correct or did I miss something here? If so, it's a pity that you don't get "the whole thing" (all the AF-options) when using BBF.

I'd be glad if someone could confirm or lead me to the light
