Re: Panasonic Lumix DMC-G7 Video Focusing Problem

I had the exact same experience, and I've been angry and disappointed that my results were so bad. After reading this forum, I decided to experiment with Manual focus/settings.

So I set the camera to M on the top dial, then I turned the autofocus indicator to Manual. I turned the camera on and (as someone mentioned) there was an autofocus button on the lower right hand corner of the screen. I hit that and, I kid you not, I was able to take beautiful 4k video.

Honestly I have no idea what 'mode' it's in right now. I walked around my house and everything was sharp and in focus. I walked into dark bedrooms and everything was sharp and the scene looked good in the low light. I don't understand it, I can't explain it, but I am excited because the thing is actually working the way I wanted it to work in the first place.

I wanted the camera to focus itself without the constant in-out of focus as the camera tried to find the right spot. And I wanted sharp low light video. I wish I understood more fully what the camera is doing right now so I could help you, but I'm just thrilled it's fixed.

But, perhaps, if you do the steps above it could help. Or perhaps someone on this forum could explain why what I did fixed my issues.
