If only Canon made optional electronic viewfinders for their DSLRs

Seeing how you can get optional electronic viewfinders (EVF) for your Canon mirrorless cameras such as the Canon M6, left me wondering why don't they do it for their DSLR line up as well? Specifically the new models with DPAF.

Of course there are cons for using EVFs such as lag and battery consumption. But the pros include:

- Being able to shoot video via the EVF under bright sunlight.

- Nailing the exposure/white balance etc when since you're looking at the live image.

- Able to view the preview image without lifting your eye away after taking a shot

- Histogram display

- Able to see in very dark environments (FF cameras)

I'd personally love to have an optional EVF that I can purchase and use on my DSLR.

Thoughts?
