At home editing environment. Ambient light in room, etc

Hi,

I am curious as to what kind of editing environment others work in.  How much ambient light, how bright your display is set, etc.

I am editing on a 27" 2017 iMac 5k and I typically put the brightness around half way or maybe a notch or two more (no idea if that is the best spot).   Prior to this I still had an issue where sometimes I edit late at night and think "ok, looks great".   Only to wake up and review the next day to a fairly dark image.

It makes me wonder aside from brightness/exposure levels that I may not be make other adjustments as well as I could due to not working in optimal conditions.   Last nights example attached that I will need to rework.
