E-M1ii + Big Tuna + EC20 1st Pictures @1200mm
24

Today was my first day out with this rig, and I'm tickled pink with it! :}

I'm delighted to report that I'm getting about 50% tac sharp results with the kind of shooting below. I've set C-AF Lock to 0 from its default of 2, in hopes of tightening C-AF single point focus. Not sure if this really helped. I also shot bursts at 9fps, electronic shutter, and moved the focus point around a bit on the subject in hopes of hitting the right spot. I think that was my biggest aid, as the actual focus point used is a bit hit and miss with this rig.

These were all shot on tripod with IBIS on using a gimbal head. I shot almost 4k images, so this is just my first pickings.  These are all really sharp to my eye.  Not bad for 1200mm!

Wood duck

First time ever seeing these - do you know what they are?

??

American Coot (Fulicia americana)

Kinda' good lookin' for a coot.

Common Goldeneye Male (Bucephala clangula)

Common Goldeneye Female (Bucephala clangula)

Common Goldeneye Female (Bucephala clangula)

Ringneck Duck

I'm now pretty confident that with burst shooting I'll always get a keeper from each sequence.  Phew!

Hope some of you find this of interest.
