AF Fine Tuning Question
1

My understanding is that AF Fine Tuning is made available on higher end Nikon DLSRs to compensate for any variance between the focal length distance of the actual sensor and the off sensor phase detection AF system.  I read many comments about different lenses needing different adjustments due to calibration issues with the lenses themselves.  Why would that matter?  If the PDAF sensors and the camera sensor are calibrated correctly, why would any lens require fine tuning?  And if one lens needs it, why wouldn't all of them?
