Olympus 30 vs 60 Macro Lens - Which one's a keeper?

Santa Claus put both an Olympus 30 and 60 Macro lens under the tree and I only want to keep one. I tried them both and can't decide.

  • Will one lens provide a wider DOF at it's MFD?  (DOF is wider at a distance but shallower at higher mag.  Do these factors cancel each other out at both these lenses MFD? (30mm at 1/2" vs. 60mm at 7")
  • Will one of these lenses provide better handheld focus sharpness/stabilization at their MFD? (ie using longer exposure settings and higher aperature numbers to maximize DOF)

I know the other factor is lighting/shadow  issues with the 30mm since MFD is only about 1/2",  but backing off to about 1" seems to eliminate this issue. (the 30mm has higher magnification anyway so this might not matter)

I care more about obtaining wider DOF and sharp images at maximum magnification.  I don't care about scaring bugs with the 30mm.

Lastly keeping only the 30mm would be cheaper.

What say you??  TIA.
