Re: 3D Pop Lenses - Are Older Better?

Since I shoot on an EOS M100 I can use an FL-EOS M, FD-EOS M, or EF-EOS M adapter. But is it worth me buying a 4-element lens like the FD 135mm f/3.5? Or can I just get a pancake EF lens like the EF-M 22mm f/2 STM (7 elements)?

Please note I don't mind MF or Manual Aperture so don't answer based on lens control, just optical tonality and character.

The above detail really should have been in your opening question, it might have saved the time that was spent on characterizing EF lenses which have those 3D rendering properties.

Unfortunately I’ve not had any personal experience with Canon manual focus lenses, but there are still plenty of long time Canon film shooters who are now Canon digital shooters in the Canon SLR Lens forum.  You should post your question there. The Adapted Lens forum also has a lot of discussion threads about adapted Canon FD lenses.  Good luck!
