Looking for a fast standard prime lens

Hi everyone,

I'm looking for a fast standard prime for my new Canon SL2/200D. I prefer 50mm equivalent to 35mm, it's a perspective I'm used to from my old film SLR. So ideally I'm looking for something between 40 and 50mm equiv. (The obvious and affordable choice for a fast prime, the EF 50mm f/1.8 STM, is just a bit too long for indoors. And the f/2.8 pancakes might be a bit too slow.)

From what I've read the options are:
Canon EF 28 f/1.8 USM
Canon EF 35mm f/2 IS USM
Sigma 30mm f/1.4 Art

Any experiences and recommendations? Anything I missed?

Judging from a few YouTube videos they all have reasonably quick but not super fast AF. If I'm not mistaken, they seem to be more like the 50mm STM than the 18-55mm f/4-5.6 kit lens, which I found surprisingly fast. The faster AF the better, for kids indoors. Also, I've read somewhere that third party lenses are more prone to needing autofocus microadjustments, which I wouldn't be able to do with the SL2. (On the other hand, Sigma does have that USB dock.) Is that true and something to keep in mind?

So, rounding things up, is there an obvious choice for a fast standard prime for Canon APS-C? Opinions and thoughts greatly appreciated. Is there something else I should consider? As I said, I'm new in the Canon camp, so if I've missed the definitive answer to this question or discussions elsewhere, I'm grateful for any advice.
