G80/85, GH5 or G9 And Panny or Leica 12-60?
1

Greetings,

I was in Jessops (UK photography retailer) yesterday pondering a G80 and 12-60mm lens to primarily shoot 4K video of scenic locations (such as the waves crashing onto a beach or a forrest with the sounds of wildlife) and trying to decide on the discounted bundle with the non Leica 12-60mm or buying the body only and the Leica 12-60, that would almost double the cost of my setup. IE, £649.00 after £100 cashback inc Panny 12-60, or £529+£779=£1300 for the Leica combo (no discount). Then, the sales guy mentioned they had a GH5 + Leica 12-60mm bundle for £2099 approx, doubling my budget, but then we're talking a real video camera with mic AND headphone inputs and superior video functionality for any future professional use.

And then there's the G9! (Which I assume is not shipping yet?)

Being my footage is for YouTube and even live streaming at some point, NOT professional use (IE, no weddings and such), do I really need the Leica, and will the G80/85 suffice? The only benefit of the Leica will of course be it's faster at 2.8 and will offer superior optics for portraits and such which are not going to be my main focus.

I know the Sony A7 series offer superior low light performance and DR, but they are a) out of my budget (4K models anyway) and b) do not offer the super ergonomics and handling of Panasonic.

Oh, and I know the G7 is a bargain these days, but weather sealing is vital for my outdoorsy needs.

Thoughts?
