Hello all, my first post here. I look for advise.

I want to carry not more than two lenses on my trips and I prefer lightweight. I already have the 16-35, which I love, and the kit lens, which usually leaves me wonder if something is wrong with that lens (almost never really sharp).

Edit: My cameras are the A7 and A5100.

Any advise will be appreciated.

I ran through page 1 of comments and was surprised to see no one recommending the 24-70.  You could replace half a bag of lens with that lens.  Amazing sharpness with low light capability and does full justice to the camera sensor.  The only con I can think of is the weight.  Find a strap which can distribute weight, you will probably not take this lens off your camera.
