OP, enjoyment and fun I'll agree that X100/XPros are honestly as Leica on-a-budget fun as shooting can ever get, but for work.... I'd take nothing less than that D850 and a 2.8 prime for all the right reasons.
How so many weddings guys switch and stick with Fuji is beyond me, but power to them if they can't lift 1 extra pound to have the reliability of battery life and OVF. And clunky as OVF is on Fujis, at least they have them unlike anyone else on the market, and that was what initial drew me in and keeps me there - battery life potential.
Well, not exactly sure what this has to do with what the OP posted and strikes me as a a sales job for DSLRs (borderline trolling) in the middle of the Fuji forum... but I'll bite.
The weight difference is a whole lot more than a pound if you include backup cameras, lenses, etc. There's also a pretty huge difference in size. And, with all that, the IQ "advantage" is pretty minimal, even if you compare with FF. If you're shooting weddings with a crop DSLR (not unheard of), there is no IQ disadvantage at all. Battery life is definitely a disadvantage for mirrorless cameras, but a deal killer? Not really considering the fact that there are many folks who participate on this forum and are using X-Pros and/or X-T1/2 cameras to [successfully] shoot weddings. Like anything else, it takes planning, or just use a battery grip and stop worrying about it.
Bottom line, if you want to engage in a discussion/debate on the usability of mirrorless cameras (Fuji in particular), that's definitely a legitimate topic. However, please start a new thread on that subject rather than co-opting this one. Oh, and be prepared to take a little heat from people that have successfully used Fuji gear for this purpose.
