iPhone x apple image processing vs camera pixels dng capture auto process jpg during capture

just a no scientific test between using both camera apps.

Comments welcome

Apple default camera app

Camera pixels dng capture with customizable jpg processing on the fly

I like the rendering and colors of the apple camera app. The sharpening adds a bit of "pop" to the image but on closer inspection past 100% details can appear watercolored and has reduced color gradients.

The camera pixels image appears softer but upon 200% inspection there is quite a bit more detail preserved, and the image will respond well to post process USM and color filters. For enlargement prints the camera pixels image is a clear winner in my opinion. Let me know if anyone wants the customizable image processing settings used.

Below is another comparison.

And just for fun
