I doubt any of the examples given would be active enough to set of a radiation alarm at a power plant. The alarms are not set to monitor levels slightly above background but SIGNIFICANT leaks.

Certainly where I work a packet of Brazil nuts can give a reading well above our typical background of 1.7cps
