Of course the number of installed EF mount lens owners is far larger, so that is likely the audience for a widespread adoption, in order to compete with the Sony offerings.  In the EF-S and EF-M 1.6crop sensor world, there is a serious lack of fast, wide lenses...  and that is about physics...  so full frame could and should avoid that failing.
