The 85/1.4L is proof that Canon is not planing to introduce a FF mirrorless camera. It has a ring motor rather than a linear one and it is EF mount.

How is this proof?

Why would Canon introduce a DSLR lens if they were planning to launch a FF mirrorless system? The 85/1.4 is an important lens that will sell well. If Canon were planning a FF mirrorless camera that is exactly one of the lenses they would want to promote alongside it.

Canon have tens of thousands of potential customers for that lens right now and the overwhelming odds are that whatever FF mirrorless system Canon does develop, it will be able to use EF lenses.

Many actual users against potential users. Seems that Canon made a safe, and smart, decision.

Not sure how Canon made any decision when they currently only have one FF DSLR system, let alone a 'safe, smart, decision'.

Well, that is predicated on the rumor of them developing a FF mirrorless sensor being true.

Reagrdless, the lens being EF Mount isn’t “proof” they are not doing so.
