CES opens on Jan. 8, 2018. Which Powershot cameras do you think or want Canon to introduce at the show? Listed are three of the oldest cameras in the lineup, but add any comments below the poll.

It can be called G3X Mark II or G2X, similar to the EOS M5 vs M3. Add a G1X III like built-in EVF to the superezoom G3X, I will buy one to replace my wife's SX40 HS.

You might not want to be too quick to dispose of your SX40HS to purchase a G3X Mark II (if it comes out). I have had 2 G3X's and the sold both when the image quality wasn't as good as my SX50HS for my type of photography. I wish it was better but it wasn't.

Thank you for letting me know. In which ways that the G3X IQ wasn't as good as your SX50 HS? Would you mind going into details, perhaps with a few sample images?

Sure...have a look and these and you be the judge. The aircraft was stopped for several minutes which allowed me to change cameras.

Here's the SX50HS image at 675mm.

Here's the G3X image at 545mm.

Thank you for sharing these images. The SX50 HS image is sharper indeed.  The G3X image looks like the camera has moved and the IS did not compensate or not yet fully engaged.

Was the SX50 HS image taken with the built-in EVF or the back LCD?

Was the G3X image shot with an add-on external EVF or the back LCD?

Was the G3X image shot when the aircraft still in motion?

The time difference is more than a few minutes.  One at Jan 18 00:27:06 GMT and another at Jan 18 11:02:20 GMT.
