You would be surprised with less costly cameras the photos that are obtained. Sure it helps the average photographer, but what counts is the person behind the camera and their ability! Work on your skill set, when you think the camera is holding you back, work on your skills some more, then 6 months after that look for that newer camera.

its really the photographer.....good luck! By the way, how many photos did you take yesterday?

You are right! I actually took some pretty darn good photos with my first DSLR - a Rebel , kits lenses and a Tamron 18-200. Then four years ago I rented the 5D Mark III and the 24-70 II, and wow! I had the opportunity to buy them not quite a year after that, and my husband encouraged to do so.

But, I do know that I would never have gotten the 400mm shots of the Big Horn sheep or the moose at Rocky Mountain National Park last summer if the 100-400 M2 rented lens hadn't been on my camera because nothing I had in my bag goes out that far!

I am always trying to improve my skills, and the more I learn the more I realize I need to learn!

I heard a famous photographer say that a great photographer can get a beautiful photo no matter what they have in their hands. I am nowhere close to that, but that is my goal. Learning is part of the fun!
