IMO, what makes the most sense for Canon FF mirrorless is to go EF mount. This allows for instant adoption among those who have an investment of EF lenses and overcomes the problem of the EF-M mount covering a FF sensor.

I instantly adopted any of my EF and EF-S to my M using the adapter with absolutely zero compromises. In fact my decision to buy into the M system is that i can immediately use any of my EF and EF-S lenses.

The EF-M mount is large enough to accommodate a FF sensor. I personally measure it in AutoCAD. it is very similar to the Sony E mount which was designed to fit APS-C and FF from the start.

EF-M mount is actually slightly bigger than Sony E-mount in throat diameter - 47 vs 46.1mm and the same flange focal distance 18mm.

What I would like to see as well is for them to continue the APS-C line as well and to offer a higher end APS-C. Though I doubt the last will happen.

Canon will continue the APS-C line, including the higher end 7D, this site even made public a serious rumor of the incoming 7D III next year.
