Hi all,

A couple of months ago I asked what mount you wanted for Canon's upcoming professional full frame mirrorless camera. The majority voted for EF although it was close. What I want now want to know is what you now think it will be, not what you want it to be.

So, what mount do you THINK it will be?

It will have to be EF-M. Because if it will remain EF/EF-s:

- It will not get the best in performance of MILCs

Can you please elaborate this point?

Every single one of the EF-M lenses is sharper than the EF-S and EF equivalent with rare exceptions.

I don't agree with this statement. I would put the EF-S 55-250mm STM against the EF-M 50-200mm any day. Same goes for the EF-S 18-55mm STM f/4.0-5.6 and EF-M 18-55mm. There isn't a lot of room between the EF-M 11-22mm and EF-S 10-18mm either. I can't say much about the EF-M 22mm and the EF-S 24mm but it seems they are close also.

Don't take my word for it, you can see it for yourself in my post at the end of this thread.

The EF-S 55-250 is only sharper than the EF-M 55-200 at the Tele end and that is the few exception I've seen.

I have compared the EF-M and EF-S 18-55mm STMs and the EF-S lens is sharper.  I have seen many photos on this forum taken with EF-M lenses and I remain unimpressed with the exception of the 11-22mm and 22mm (which I own).  Th difference between the EF-M and EF-S counterparts is negligible at best.  The EF-M lenses aren't dogs but they aren't anything special either except for the two referenced above.
