Here is why a Canon FF MILC should use the EF-M mount.

The shorter flange back distance of the EF-M (18mm) vs EF (44mm) allows for compactness and higher optical performance.

In other words, EF-M is SHARPER

But you don't have to believe me or know the technical details why this is so. The ultimate prove is in the images.

Here are the samples where shows the superior sharpness of EF-M every single time, even L glass is not as sharp as low budget EF-M !!

Just hover the mouse over the following images to compare

EF-M 22 f2 vs EF 40mm
EF-M 22 vs EF-S 24
EF-M 22 vs EF 24 f1.4L II
EF-M vs EF-S Kit lenses @35mm f8EF-M vs EF-S Wide Zoom lenses @17mm f8EF-M vs EF-S Tele Zoom lenses @100mm f8

yes you missed one ...the M11-22 as as sharp or sharper than the £2500GBP canon 11-24F4L its the M lenses are why i get in to the M in the first place .....ironically the M has more SHARP >>COMPACT >>>AFFORDABLE >>> lenses than any other system ...sony only has one the 50mmF1.8OSS (i used to think they had none but cattepiler corrected me)...

but it looks like you not read my previous post ...optical designers can put the rear element as close to to sensor as they like when there is no mirror ..flange distance is a non argument  with a MILC when it comes to optical design...in fact as the EF mount has a wide throat the EF mount probably has an advantage over all other MILC ...

There is no argument for FF vs APS-c (or m43) with shallow DOF..as it's a law of physics and a very subjective personal thing if you want to make use of the shallow DOF only FF can offer
