Right now, my primary camera is a D500 with the typical lenses for such camera. I am going on a trip to Morocco, and will bring the camera with several lenses, as the purpose of the trip is photography.

With that said, a compact camera would be useful so if I want to go light, or if I am on a camel or whatever, I can get good photos without being weighed down. But, I am at a loss with what to get. I noticed there are several good cameras on sale, either new or used, such as:

1. a used Fuji X100S or X100T

2. a Sony RX100, probably used mark III

3. XE-2s with 14 f/2.8 for $999

4. X-T1 body only for $600 (which of course would require another lens)

compared to the X100 series, how big is the XE and XT models? Is there a general suggestion with what you think I should do? I really like the pants pocketability of the RX100, but if the XT or XE2 can fit inside a jacket pocket, I think that could work for me as well.

Also, how outdated is the XE2s and XT-1 now? thanks.

I traveled there couple years ago. If you plan to do any street photography, then DSLR doesn't work as locals don't like to be photographed. Bring any small camera with flip screen and silent shutter if possible.
