Bif on a budget: Old Prime, cheaper m43 long teles or bigger sensor?

Hi, I find that if the subject fills more than a fourth of the frame is hard to track, with manual focus, but then when I crop the photo there's not that much detail.

I shoot a 16mp M43. Would I be better of getting a 24mp apsc sensor camera? would a 300mm prime (say Vivitar 300mm f5.6 or similar) be sharper than the Oly 75-300mm and the Panny 100-300mm?

I have a Vivitar 75-260mm f4.5 and the Oly 40-150mm $100 kit lens. I find the Vivitar is about as sharp as the Oly at f8. I shoot in good light. I can easily get 1/2000+ shutter speed even at f8 ISO 400. So, I don't need a faster lens, just more cropping latitude.

Any advice, greatly appreciated!
