Why do cameras need bigger lens than Smartphones

My Smartphone takes sharp photos using f2.2 and only has a very small lens, so I was wondering why cameras need larger lens to take the same photos?

If a Smartphone can focus then it must have a very small motor to move either the lens or the sensor.

I can also take photos with my smartphone in low light condition with very little noise and the photo is bright and clearly enough to see everything  yet cameras have a problem with this. In stead of using a torch I can use the monitor on my Smartphone (in camera mode) to see things in very low light conditions.

Samsung Galaxy Notebook 3
31mm f2.2 lens
max ISO 1000

Just curious
