Burnout: Non-pros, how have you prevented it? Or cured yourself?

Got my DSLR in June 2013, and back in August of this year, realized that I my interest level had plummeted ... was FORCING myself to take photos on weekends, instead of going out because I wanted to.

Stop gap measures to keep photography a thriving hobby:

  • Awoke an old hobby, Archery
  • Starting a new physically-demanding hobby, Cycling
  • Going on photography outings only where is something that I want to photograph, not because it's a weekend or I have a vacation day

Another symptom of the burnout: Visiting the DPReview website once every couple of weeks, vs. several times a day.

Has anyone experienced this?  And if are reading this, it was either a temporary thing, or combated the burnout successfully ... HOW?
