Dolica GX600B200 vs PrimaPhoto PHTRBBK

Please help an amateur with his first tripod. Thank you in advance!

I use a Superzoom camera, nothing special. I will do light hiking with it, family portraits, landscapes, wildlife, etc. General, non-professional stuff. I only want to keep one.

I bought both...

Dolica GX600B200, Proline GX Series 60-Inch Aluminum Tripod and Ball Head

  • Rapid stability center column
  • Reversible locking center column
  • Durable flip leg locks
  • Integrated tripod bubble level
  • 3-Position leg angle adjustment locks (for macro lens)

PrimaPhoto PHTRBBK, 54" Gear Traveler Big Tripod

  • Fractioned ball head with independent pan lock
  • Leg to monopod
  • Telescopic center column
  • Leg angle selectors
  • Twist leg locks

Here's what I noticed when I setup both...

PrimaPhoto
- even though specs say otherwise, definitely taller fully extended
- heavier by nearly 1lb
- bubble level is not working, not even close to accurate
- twist extension legs not as quick/easy to use, legs to not drop/slide on their own
- monopod

Dolica
- noticeably less weight
- legs drop/slide on their own when released : faster setup
- seems less sturdy
- no monopod
