Make your own photobook - Japanese Stab Binding method

Hello all,

I see lots of posts about photo books on here and rather than reply to some of them I thought I'd bung this one up about 'mekkin yer oan'. Using the Japanese stab binding method which I find surprisingly strong. I put this web page up a few years ago and it shows how I do it; how to fold the covers and sew the binding:

I've put this pic on here as well because I've altered the way I make them slightly.

From left to right;
Symmetrical cutting template from 1mm grey card coated with Shellac
A 2mm hole punch
Smooth Awl to increase the hole sizes as needed
Plastic clamps to hold the template to the covers and pages
Swann Morton craft knife, sharpening stone and rule
Chinese waxed Linen thread and a tapestry needle

Cheers - Jim
