Adapting lens for Macro (only)

In looking for a macro lens for the SD Quattro H I realized that I could easily adapt my Nikon mount Tamron 90mm f2.8 1:1 macro lens to the Sigma for close up use only.

There are Nikon F mount to Pentax K mount adapters on ebay for about $10. They mount on the Sigma with only a touch of rotational play and let me physically mount a Nikon lens on the Sigma. With the differences in flange focal length and the width of the adapter itself it is around a 11mm extension tube on the Nikon lens. For the few Nikon lenses I tried I can't focus out more than about 3-4', as expected. Macro works fine though.

34 image stack at minimum focus distance.

Cheap way of reusing an already owned macro lens. For anyone looking to purchase a macro lens it would make more sense to go with a M42 macro lens as it would be usable for more than just close up photography.
