Lens Choice with 7D2

Have 7D2 and love it but maybe someday a full frame but that's a long way off.

I am looking for a good midrange zoom.

Have 10-22 Canon and Tamron 70-200 f2.8 OS and keeping those.

Current midrange zoom is an older 28-75 f2.8 Tamron with no IS. Not a bad lens and quite a bargain at $200 you can get them for now but I want stabilization and some better optics.

I was looking at 24-70 f2.8 probably from Tamron but the 17-55 f.28 IS from Canon would be, focal length-wise, maybe more useful with a crop sensor (certainly closer to 24-70 for FF but would leave a gap from 55-70 and overlap a few mm at the wide end) but the competition is so fierce in the 24-70 range and fills the gap quite well for more money (not a lot with Tamron).

My photography is pretty varied so I call it general photography, no special requirements besides good image quality and fast accurate AF.

What would be your decision if you had this circumstance?
